The purpose of this costume was not just explicit Zelda fandom, but also to provide a middle ground that I could use to talk to people when I was a guest at DEFCON. I chose a simple and recognizable design that could recieve some added style. There are some notable illusions that the costume manages to pull off, most notably the flatness of the shield. The shield is actually a decorated piece of cardboard, with a designs cut out of adhesive tape which is sprayed prior to application. The bracer is made of 100% craft foam, given a rough look via a spray paint with built in texturization. The elf ears are not an illusion however, I am clearly a child of a Hylian mother.
